Working while studying at a local remote startup around 2019.
Got a job offer for a role in Shopee Singapore in 2020.
Graduated from Institut Teknologi Bandung in 2020.
Worked in Singapore for 4 years, until now.
Got a job offer for a role in Germany in 2024.
I will relocate to Germany (Hamburg) in 2025.

If this single tweet is the entire summary of my career, then I will just wait until I get my remote job offer.

Efficiency is boring.

Modern world is all about the numbers. The bigger the better. The leaner the better. How to produce X by spending less than Y amount of money.

Imagine a world where everything is 100% efficient. Huge returns with near zero work. This world would mean nothing. Humans will only be consuming, not producing. Working is meaningless. Living is meaningless.

How do you optimize friendships? How do you optimize art? How do you optimize fun? How do you optimize these things that make you human?

Being a leader is not about giving the loudest roar to the pack. It is not about cracking the hardest whip to the slowest horse of the carriage. It is not about pushing and shoving.

A leader is all about example. A role model. Be the compass to the north star.

It is hard, yet fulfilling.

You need to embody the mission and share it with the rest. Guide, and empower your troops. Be commanding yet understanding. Be passionate on your goal and compassionate to your people.

I can now understand what differentiates between a good expert versus a great expert: the quality of their writing. Good expert understands how the thing works; great expert understand how the thing works and how to communicate it clearly. Clarity here is the keyword. If you cannot explain a problem clearly, you may not fully understand the problem yet.

A Failed Stoic

Introduction

This is me trying to be vulnerable. This post may offend or is too dramatic for some readers. So skip it if you don’t want to.

I am writing this post as a remembrance that I have failed to be a stoic. Sigh, I wrote this “stoic” thing everywhere in my bio. Turns out I don’t deserve one. At least for now.

The Incident

Today, I have heard a lot of good news about my friends. Some are getting promoted, some are getting married, some are having their startup being funded by a VC, some are having fun with their new Horizon Forbidden West. All good, right?. I am happy for them, I really do. I am happy that they are sharing their happiness, legit.

Yet Another Blog

Just like every other developers in the planet, we tend to create a brand new blog every single year.

I try to keep it simple though this time. The goal of this blog is not to promote myself as someone that can build a website, but to learn how to write properly. I do not want it to be a “goal” like a year ago when I tried to create “30 Days of Writing” challenge and failed miserably in the middle of the challenge. I just want to make sure that I have the platform to spill my thoughts in a structured manner (unlike, let’s say, tweet storms like I always do in my alt Twitter account). I also hope that the content of this blog is useful to the readers.
